Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Wanda Janice Pierce, 63, passed away on June 20, 2026 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford (601 Commerce Parkway, Oxford, MS, 38655). A memorial service will immediately follow on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel at Coleman Funeral Home. Wanda was born on April 1, 1963 to the late Nathal Wayne and Wanda Gill Quarles. She was known for her deep affection for her feline companions. Her home was always alive with the gentle presence of cats and dogs she lovingly cared for, each one a testimony to her generous heart. Her green thumb was legendary, lilies and orchids flourished by her house, and her garden was a sanctuary for all who visited. Wanda found joy in nature’s beauty and delighted in nurturing every plant and flower she touched. A true collector at heart, Wanda cherished her collection of Coke memorabilia and had a keen eye for unique and stylish shoes. She was an Elvis Presley superfan, with his songs often filling her home and her heart. Comedy movies and lively gameshows were her favorite ways to unwind, and she always enjoyed watching a good game unfold on TV. While thunderstorms made her uneasy, Wanda’s warmth and love were a constant comfort to those around her. Her children and grandchildren were the lights of her life, and she showered them with affection, wisdom, and laughter. Wanda’s life was a tapestry woven with love for her family, her pets, her garden, and the simple joys that made each day special. Wanda Pierce will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, humor, and the beauty she cultivated in every corner of her world will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever. She is survived by her five children, Nastassja Leslie (Keith) of Oxford, Kirtsen White of Paris, MS, Dustin, Oliver, and Christopher Wait all of Oxford; nine grandchildren, Haleigh Anderson (Tate) of Batesville, MS, Bradley and Alex Leslie of Oxford, Rowan Wait of Jackson, MI, Aiden White of Oxford, Ashton Wait of Jackson, MI, Kaylen Leslie of Oxford, and Wyatt Evans and River Walters both of Paris; and her two sisters, Lana Makmason (Sam) of Greenwood, MS, and Charlotte Hodges of Senatobia, MS. Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Pierce; her parents, Nathal Wayne and Wanda Gill Quarles; and her brother, Michael Quarles. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that any donations or memorials in memory of Wanda be made to any animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
