Stephen William Haslett

Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Stephen William Haslett, 68, of Red Banks, MS, formerly of Washington, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Olive Branch. Rosary service will begin at 2:30 p.m., with a funeral mass following at 3:00 p.m. Fr. Hendrik Ardianto, SCJ will officiate. Interment will be at a later date at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Steve graduated from Fairley High School in Whitehaven. During his 20 years of service in the United States Air Force, he earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Martin’s University in Olympia, WA. After his Air Force career, he retired from the Department of Homeland Security. In his leisure time, Steve developed a passion for square dancing and calling for over forty years. He had the privilege of dancing in the United States and Germany. Many will remember Steve for his interest in playing golf and also camping with his wife, Sherry. While attending Queen of Peace, he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus #14051. Steve is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sherry Haslett of Red Banks; son, Brian Haslett (Sabrina) of Saucier, MS; grandsons, Lane Haslett and John Haslett, both of Saucier; sisters, Phyllis Strain (Mike) of Spottsylvania, VA, Janet Haslett-Olson of Bolivar, MO, Adrian Austill (Jack) of Hartselle, AL, and Elaine Haslett of Ocean Springs, MS; brother, Kevin Haslett (Kathy) of Cordova, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also left behind to cherish him is his mother-in-law, Gloria McCollough of Byhalia, and sister-in-law, Judy McCollough of Byhalia. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Joan and Thomas Haslett, and his brother, Brian Crawford Haslett.
