Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Nyoka Bryant, 78, of Oxford, passed away at her residence on Sunday, March 22, 2026. The family will celebrate her life with a memorial service on Thursday, March 26, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM at Adonai Church (44457 Hwy 315, Water Valley, Mississippi 38965). Nyoka graced this world with her presence on February 22, 1948, in Covington, Tennessee, as a daughter of the late William Delaney and Estella Dunn Delaney. Nyoka took pride in her appearance. She moved with quiet elegance, reflecting inner strength and self-respect. She had an extraordinary talent and created beauty with her hands. As an accomplished seamstress, Nyoka could make almost anything; if you imagined it, she could sew it. Her work was skillful, filled with love, and generously shared with family and friends. Music was another gift. Nyoka loved singing and played several instruments, including guitar, piano, and accordion. Her music brought comfort and togetherness to those around her. Nyoka also expressed her love through cooking. Her kitchen was a place of gathering and nourishment. She lovingly prepared meals not only for her family but also for the community she helped raise. Her generosity and care touched countless lives. Many will remember her through the meals she so faithfully shares. Above all, Nyoka’s deep faith shaped her life. As a devoted member of Adonai Church, her love for the Lord guided her actions and built her character. Her faith remained a steady foundation through every season. Nyoka will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, devotion, and the ways she gave to others. Her legacy continues in those she loved and touched. She leaves behind a loving family. She is survived by four children: Bobby Bryant of Oxford, Mississippi; Keesha Smith and her husband Danny of Water Valley, Mississippi; James Bryant and his wife Chasidy of Oxford, Mississippi; and Jennifer Mosley of Water Valley, Mississippi. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Christy May and her husband Greg, Rodney Bryant, Nyoka Gail Bryant, Sawyer Bryant, Dannyboy Smith and his wife Amanda, Brandon Smith and his wife Rachel, Dominic Bryant and his wife Emily, Tristen Bryant, Rory Mosley, and Nialia Mosley; and four great-grandchildren: Lois Christine Smith, Lainey Reese Bryant, Alysa Davis, and Lacey May. Many step-in-children also found their way into her loving home. Nyoka was preceded in death by her parents, William Delaney and Estella Dunn Delaney; her husband, Walter Bryant; and one son, Rodney Bryant. In place of traditional flowers, the family has requested that donations be given to Adonai Church, 44457 Hwy 315, Water Valley, Mississippi 38965.
