Larry Layne Lemons

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Mr. Larry Layne Lemons, 62, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, at his home in Potts Camp, MS. Visitation will be Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ (49 Overton School Rd., Potts Camp, MS 38659). A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., also at Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Bishop Steve Wilson and Pastor Jon Vazquez will officiate. Interment will be at Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Lemons was born March 8, 1961, in New Albany, MS. He proudly worked for most of his life as a truck driver. He was loved in the trucking community and was commonly called by his C.B. handle, Lugnut. He was often referred to as a jack-of-all-trades, and you would almost never find him sitting still. Mr. Lemons was always busy doing things for others. He was such a selfless man and would always make sure that the needs of others was always taken care of before his own. He had a heart of gold, and he was well loved by everyone he came in contact with. Mr. Lemons was also a true Christian at heart. He loved his Lord and Savior and was proud to attend Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Lemons is survived by his three daughters, Crystal Lemons Joshlin of Potts Camp, Rebecca Gore of Shreveport, LA, and Kimberly Hall of New Albany; his son, Wayne (Amy) Riles of Hickory Flat, MS; one sister, Judi Garner (Ron) Fox of Olive Branch, MS; one brother, Don Lemons of Potts Camp; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Mr. Lemons was preceded in death by his parents, A.Q. Lemons and Bernice S. Lemons; three sisters, Barbara Ann Lemons, Joy Joyner, and Beverly Watson; one niece, Brandi Jo Fox; and one nephew, Jason Fox. Donations and memorials in honor of Mr. Larry Layne Lemons may be made to the Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Cemetery Fund.
