Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven Karen Lee Richardson Wollenweber, 81, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, at her home with family by her side. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 12:00 Noon at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Paris, TN. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at her home (2520 Baptist Road Nesbit, MS 38651). Bro. Billy Shackelford will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements. Karen was a spirited, witty, and fun-loving woman who brought energy and warmth into every room she entered. Her infectious laughter and playful sense of humor made her a joy to be around. Karen had a passion for dancing, which allowed her to express her vibrant personality. She found peace in her garden, where she spent nurturing her flowers and plants, and she cherished the simple pleasures of fishing and watching her beloved hummingbirds flit about. Family was the cornerstone of Karen's life. Her love for her children and grandchildren was boundless, and she reveled in being their "Nana." Known for her spicy personality and affectionate nature, she was always the life of the party, bringing joy to family gatherings with her lively stories and delicious home-cooked meals. Karen was a master in the kitchen, delighting in cooking and canning, making sure that no one ever left her table hungry. She took pride in passing down these traditions, ensuring that her legacy of love and care would live on through the generations. Karen is survived by her children, Ron Hixson, Mark (Carlene) Hixson of Nesbit, MS, and Chris (Ann) Hixson also of Nesbit; grandchildren, Todd Hixson, Bobby (Samantha) Hixson, Kim (David) Floyd, Stephanie (Michael) Mask, Kaleb (Brittany) McCord, Jeremy Hixson, Desiree (Tyler) Magee, Dylan Tidwell, and Kirsten Hixson; great-grandchildren, Marleigh Hixson, Mayson Hixson, Chance Hixson, Bella Hixson, Lailah Dowland, Nova Lawson, Chevy Lawson, and Brian Lawson; and her siblings, Taylor (Mary Beth) Richardson of Memphis, TN, Dennis Richardson of Ridgely, TN, and Mary (Eddie) Upton of Paris, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Edward Wollenweber; parents, Ervin and Dixie Hart Richardson; and her siblings, Sylvia Johnson and Juanita Snid.
