Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Mrs. Joan Joyce McCain, 86, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 25, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family after an extended illness. Visitation will be Monday, August 28, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford (601 Commerce Pkwy., Oxford, MS 38655). A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford. Interment will be at Oxford Memorial Cemetery (North 16th St., Oxford, MS 38655). Bro. Terry Floyd and Bro. Robert Jackson will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Joyce was born on September 13, 1936, in Oxford, to Gladys and Elton Ramsey. Joyce married the love of her life, Malcolm Clark, on October 31, 1953. Joyce was the rock for her family, raising five young children. Later in life, Joyce was blessed to have married Joe McCain. In addition to her family, Joyce had an immense love for gardening, cooking, and taking care of others. Her flowers have brought years of love and life to everyone around her. The impact Joyce made while working at the Alumni House Grill continues, as she took care of many college students and fed them throughout their college career. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. Joyce is survived by her children, Billy Clark (Leesa), Sheila Tutor, David Clark, and Phil Clark (Chris), all of Oxford, MS; her grandchildren, Elissa Wynn, Brad Allen, and Denise Allen, all of Jackson, MS, Matt Clark, Morgan Moore, Megan Castle, Mitch Clark, Scott Clark, Holly Clark, and Carrie Beth Clark, all of Oxford, and Michelle Heisel of Saltillo, MS; 24 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; her sisters, Ella Mae Daniels, Lynda Jackson (Bob), and Peggy Ray (Wayne Haynie); her brothers, Dean Ramsey (Myrna) and George Ramsey; along with many nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Elton Ramsey; her husbands, Malcolm Clark and Joe McCain; her daughter, Debbi Dayton; her granddaughter, Maranda Tutor Anderson; and her siblings, Elton Ramsey, Sandra Dickey, Mary Alice Ramsey, Chuck Ramsey, Bill Ramsey, and James Donald Ramsey. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Baptist Hospice Service, specifically Dr. Timothy Thompson, Dr. Ronald Scott, Angie Vinson, Diana Brown, Annie Lesueur, Emily Brown, Wendy Bryant, and Sue Morrison.
