Joan Crawford Haslett

Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Joan Crawford Haslett, 93, of Memphis, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church (785 Church Road West, Southaven, MS 38671). A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery. Father David Szatkowski, SCJ, JCD, will officiate. Joan was born on June 27, 1930 in Memphis, TN. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church. In earlier years, she and her husband, Tommy, attended St. Paul Catholic Church in Whitehaven and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Memphis. Later, Joan became a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Southaven, MS. She was also an active member of Al-Anon for forty-nine years this month. Joan retired from Fred Montesi Groceries in Memphis. She was also a homemaker and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who called her “Kahuna”. Joan was married to the love of her life, Tommy, for fifty years and five days. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, and traveling. Her favorite activity was shopping, and she especially loved taking trips to “the Belks”. Joan was loved by many and will truly be missed. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Phyllis Strain (Mike) of Spotsylvania, VA, Janet Haslett-Olson of Bolivar, MO, Adrian Austill (Jack) of Hartselle, AL, Elaine Haslett of Ocean Springs, MS; sons, Stephen Haslett (Sherry) of Red Banks, MS, Kevin Haslett (Kathy) of Cordova, TN; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas William Haslett; son, Brian Crawford Haslett; parents, Everett and Irma Crawford; and brothers, Tommy and Frank Crawford.
