Jessica Jones Spooner

Jessica Spooner, 40, went to her heavenly home on May 15, 2023 after a bravely fought battle against pancreatic cancer. Private memorial details will be communicated at a later time. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Jessica graduated from Hernando High and worked at FedEx as a safety specialist up until her diagnosis. She lived for her children and it was her purpose in life to make them great men. She would do anything to make them smile, if only for a minute. She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife and mother. She will always be the bravest person her family has ever known, as she faced the toughest battles, and in each and every one —was a true warrior. She loved sunshine, water and the beach and to see her boys enjoying it. She loved food (especially chicken) and was the best cook this side of the Mississippi. She’d take a pantry full of nothing and have the best southern cooked meal prepared in no time. She’d give the shirt off her back for anyone that she loved and had a heart bigger than the world. She also had a pretty good mean streak that would put you in your place so fast, it would make your head spin. Her beauty radiated from the inside out and everyone that knew and loved her will forever be changed by not having her here. Her faith was as strong as she was, which makes us all know she’s no longer fighting and filled with worry, but is eternally happy. She leaves behind her whole world - the love of her life and best husband, Matthew Spooner, and her 3 amazing boys, Dillan Alderman, Dalton Alderman, and Landry Spooner all of Hernando, MS; her mothers, Maria Jones of Hernando, MS and Donna Jones of Cascilla, MS; her sisters, Jennifer Williams (Michael) of Hernando, MS and Gina Rutland (Hunter) of Tillatoba, MS and one brother, Mutt Terry (Callie) of Olive Branch, MS; her grandmother, Marie Ables of Grenada, MS; and the biggest and longest list of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that all loved her so. She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Jones; her grandmother, Nora Jones; and her grandfather, Bud Ables. We can only imagine their faces when they got to see hers.
