Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven J.B. Bowie, 81, passed away January 17, 2023, in Southaven, MS. A visitation will be held Monday, January 23, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven (626 Star Landing Road East, Southaven, MS, 38672). A memorial service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. Barry Bowie will be officiating. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements. J.B. Bowie was born February 18, 1941, in Choctaw County, MS. J.B. was strong in his faith and was dedicated to his job at Mission Ministries where he was in charge of transportation. During his time at Mission Ministries, he was awarded the “Tree Slayer Award” for refusing to use a computer. Instead, he would write out his information and make copies for everyone. Before his time at Mission Ministries, he owned his own company, J.B. And Associates, for over 20 years. J.B. also had many passions and hobbies. J.B. had a love for music. He played in a band for over 10 years and played everything from traditional rock to country music. He also had a passion for cars, especially Corvettes, and enjoyed driving racecars. In his spare time, J.B. liked to garden, cook, watch crime and police shows, and cheer on his Cowboys and Ole Miss. Above all, he was a great family man. He was married for 23 years to the love of his life, Tammy, and was a dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was also close to his brothers, who he helped raise. J.B. will be deeply missed by all who loved him. J.B. Bowie is survived by his wife, Tammy Bowie of Southaven, MS; his daughters, Kasia Park (David) of Southaven, Brandy Bullard (Glenn) of Nesbit, MS, Blair Little (David) of Olive Branch, MS, and Brittany Coleman (K.C.) of Nashville, TN; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Barry Bowie (Peggy) of Atoka, MS, Billy Bowie (Cathy) of Nashville, and Joe Bowie (Sherry) of Florida. J.B. Bowie was preceded in death by his father, Amos M. Bowie, Sr.; his mother, Evelyn Bowie; his brother, Bobby Bowie; and his sister, Nell Jenkins. Contribution and memorials in honor of J.B.
