Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Flavio Gonzalez Velazquez, 27, of Olive Branch, MS passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Hendrik Ardianto, SCJ of Queen of Peace Catholic Church will officiate. Flavio was born on October 5, 1996 in Apatzingan, Michoacan, Mexico. He graduated from Center Hill High School in Olive Branch, MS and worked as a staffing recruiter at Superb Staffing Solutions in Memphis, TN. Flavio was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He was known as a simple, easy-going guy. If you knew Flavio, you also knew he was peaceful, gentle, and always kind and considerate to everyone. Flavio saw the good in others and wanted them to reach their best potential. He had a servant’s heart and would lend a hand to anyone in need. Spending time with his family was very important to him, especially hanging out with his nephew. He liked sports, placing bets, but most of all, Flavio enjoyed playing Xbox with his cousins. Flavio leaves behind his loving mother, Maria R. Genova and stepfather, Keven Genova of Byhalia, MS; father, Flavio Gonzalez Echavarria of Mexico; sisters, Jazmine Gonzalez (Alonso) of Olive Branch, MS, Savanah P. Tutor of Byhalia, Ashley Moore (Jake) of Portsmouth, VA; brothers, Austin Genova of Olive Branch, Drew Genova of Charlottesville, VA; grandfather, Leonzo Gomez of Mexico; nephew, Alonso Quezada Jr. of Olive Branch; aunts, Lupe Velazquez (Manuel) of Memphis, TN, Eloisa Rebollar (Fortino) of Chicago, IL, Judith Velazquez of Memphis, Reyna Velazquez of Chicago, Mari-del Carmen Lopez (Agustin Zamora) of Memphis, Antonia Gonzalez of Mexico; uncles, Marco Velazquez (Cecelia) of Memphis, Agustin Zamora (Dulce) of Memphis; cousins, Karla Salgado of Memphis, Johnny Rebollar, Kimberly Rebollar, and Diana Rebollar of Chicago, Erendira and Arianna Tornes of Memphis, Martha Pulido (Abner) of Memphis, Gordinez of Chicago, and Luz Elena Zamora (Jorge) of Southaven, MS. Along with his family, Flavio leaves behind his friends, Gabe Matta of Colorado, Maria Walker of Southaven, Pope of Mississippi, Jonathan Torres, Lucany, Pamela Chaves, and Valerie of Memphis, and Roberto Torres of Horn Lake, MS; and the Timber Ridge Crew in Byhalia. Flavio was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. Flavio is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Eloisa Lopez and Martha Echavarria of Mexico, Kathleen Dell of Virginia; and grandfathers, Flavio Gonzalez Sr. of Mexico and Enrique Rodriguez of Memphis.
