Edward Stahl Sr

Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Edward Francis Stahl, Sr., 92, of Horn Lake, MS, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am with the funeral mass to follow at 11:00 am all at St. Brigid Catholic Church (7801 Lowrance Road, Memphis, TN). The interment will be at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN). Father Joey Kaump will officiate. Edward was born on September 16, 1930 in Memphis, TN. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Tunica, MS and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Edward loved his country and served honorably the United States in both the Army and the Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion in the U.S. Veteran’s Association. Outside of the military, Edward worked for the University of Tennessee as a maintenance manager. He was a smart man who loved anything related to history and science. Edward was very interested in electronics and enjoyed building radios. He also enjoyed spending his free time fishing and traveling. Edward was married to the love of his life, Stella Delorse, for sixty-two years. He loved his family and he will be greatly missed by those who loved him. Edward is survived by his sons, Edward F. Stahl (Cecilia) of Olive Branch, and Mitchell F. Stahl (Shelia Shelby) of Walls, MS; granddaughters, Jennifer Gregory (Karl) of Collierville, TN, Stephanie Palugi (Chris) of Memphis, TN, Samantha Samuels (Jon) of McComb Township, MI, and Hannah Stahl of McComb Township, MI; grandson, Mitchell Stahl of McComb Township, MI; and great-granddaughters, Susie Palugi of Memphis, TN, and Emilee Samuels of McComb Township, MI; great-grandsons, Brandon Gregory (Rachel) of Collierville, TN, and Christopher Palugi, Jr., of Memphis, TN; great-great- granddaughters, Daisy Gregory and Ellie Gregory of Collierville, TN; and brother, Melvin Stahl of Virginia. Edward is preceded in death by his wife, Stella Delorse; his parents, Mrs. And Mr. Albert L. Stahl; sister, Mary Stahl; and brother, Wallace Stahl. In lieu of traditional flowers, memorials can be made in his name to Catholic Charities (www.catholiccharities.org). In honor of Edward Stahl’s service to our country, the flag of the United States Air Force will be flown at Coleman Funeral Home on the day of the services.
