Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Charla Henry Gregory, 56, of Oxford, Mississippi, died peacefully on March 16, 2026. The family will have a private service at Coleman Funeral Home on Thursday, April 2, at 11:00 a.m. Charla was born in Batesville, Mississippi, on November 17, 1969, to Cornelia and Charles Henry. Charla graduated from Oxford High School in Oxford, Mississippi, in 1988. She furthered her education at the University of Mississippi, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Science in 1992. Charla grew up attending North Oxford Baptist Church, where she and her siblings spent much time in youth group activities. She was actively involved in Girls in Action, a mission program, and a bible study for girls. Charla was a lifelong resident of Oxford, Mississippi. She was deeply involved in the local community and served for many years as a board member of the Oxford Humane Society and Resource Center. She was passionate about finding homeless pets a forever home and spent countless hours volunteering at the animal shelter. She adopted two dogs from the shelter, Gebe and Mia. After graduating from Ole Miss, Charla worked at The Frame Up on The Oxford Square, where she eventually managed the business for 22 years. She later started her own business, The Oxford Frame Company, serving customers from across the Southeast. Charla took great pride in her work with the University of Mississippi, where she formed lifelong friendships through the years, including her favorite artist, Paul Edelstein. Her creative talent also led her to create her own pottery line, Charla’s Pottery, which she sold to businesses around the Southeast. Her legacy and talent will live on through her beautiful art pieces. Charla’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family and doting on her nieces and nephews, as well as her great-nieces and great-nephews: Joseph Gex V, Taylor Gex Walhood, Maggie Hewitt Mounger, Peyton Hewitt, Walter Gex VI, Louise Gex, Ellison Walhood, Della Peyton Walhood, Wells Mounger, and Rollins Mounger. She is survived by her parents, Charles and Cornelia Henry; her sisters, Dee Henry Gex (Joe) and Debra Henry Hewitt (Bobby); and her brother, Charles Albert Peyton Henry. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mildred and John Jamison, and Della and Clarence Henry.
