Young "YD" David Potter

Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven In humble submission to the will of God, we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Young “YD” David Potter on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, in Southaven, MS. Mr. Potter was a pillar of strength. His kindness left a mark on each heart he touched. There was both sternness and gentleness in his spirit and unwavering love in his heart. He was compassionate and a man of integrity. From these characteristics, he grew to love everyone he met, never meeting a stranger. A lifelong Christian, David was born in Fort Walton Beach, FL, and his home church was Greg Chapel. He became a proud United States Marine at the age of 17 and dearly loved his country. Post-serving as a Marine, he attended UNLV. His greatest passion and accomplishment was his family. He never missed a chance to brag on his grandchildren, of which he was affectionately known as “Grandpaw or Pawpaw”. David was preceded in death by his father, Youngblood Potter. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving spouse, Barbara Fondren, of Horn Lake, MS; his mother, Annie Belle Potter, of Navarre, FL; his son, David Potter, Jr.; bonus children - Makeba Evans of Atlanta, GA; LaTasha (Freddie) Middleton, of Hernando, MS; LaKecia Middleton, of Horn Lake, MS; and Marcus Middleton, of Southaven, MS; his siblings, Guy Potter, Patricia Green and Stacie Jones all of Navarre, FL; Wanda (Gary) Bean, of Fredericksburg, VA; Larry Potter and Angelina (Lamar) Williams both of Atlanta, GA; his beloved grandchildren, Jasmine Achille, of Miami, FL; Derian Middleton & Destiny Sipp, of Horn Lake, MS; Reagan & Jonas Mathews, of Hernando, MS; his great-granddaughter, Zaiyah St. Hilaire of Miami, FL; his special cousin, Connie Miller, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
