Susan Elizabeth Snyder

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Susan Elizabeth Snyder, 74, of Oxford, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 04, 2023, at her home. She was welcomed into this world on the fall day of October 13, 1947, as a daughter of the late Dale Nelson Bushey and Mary Elizabeth Zeigler Bushey. Susan spent many wonderful decades strolling down the path of life with her high school sweetheart and beloved husband Bob of 56 years of marriage. While strolling down this path, Susan and Bob brought two children into the world, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren along with an immeasurable amount of memories. This woman who wore a smile with grace and beauty, provided for her family by keeping books for a retail store. However, this selfless woman gave up her career so she could devote her life to looking after the needs and wants of her family that she so dearly loved. Her seven grandchildren and four fur babies were the apple of her eye. She also enjoyed family vacations, frequently visiting the beaches of Ocean City, Maryland, and the attractions at Walt Disney World. Aside from loving her family endlessly, this selfless soul found joy in shopping. However, this love for shopping was not derived from her own personal motives, but from the motives of generosity and her willingness to brighten the lives of others. Which was evidenced during the holidays when she spoiled her loved ones with gifts. Susan always loved giving rather than receiving. Whether your birthday, fathers/mothers day, Halloween or Christmas you could always count on a card from mom. Although she has departed from our presence, her treasured memory will continue to live on in the hearts and mind of her dear loved ones. She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence; her husband, Bob Snyder of Oxford, Mississippi; one daughter, Angela (Christopher) Hadley of Enola, Pennsylvania; one son, Todd (Denise) Snyder of Millsboro, Delaware; seven grandchildren: Amber Gerding, Jonathan Thiel, Madeline Finlay, Holly Thiel, Chase Snyder, Taylor Hadley, and Olivia Hadley; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Nancy Tomes of York, Pennsylvania; Linda Bushey of York, Pennsylvania. The family will celebrate her life with a memorial service in her home state of Pennsylvania at a later date. The family has requested that memorial contributions be given to the following organizations in memory of not only Susan’s life but also her abounding generosity: The American Cancer Society (www.donate.cancer.org) St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate) The staff at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is honored to serve the Snyder family as they begin to walk through this new season of life.
