Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Shaun David Cross, 41, of Oxford, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at his residence in the College Hill Community. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 08, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford, located at 601 Commerce Parkway Oxford, Mississippi 38655. The Memorial service, a celebration of Shaun’s life, will take place in the chapel of Coleman Funeral Home on Saturday, June 08, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Shaun was welcomed into this world on May 17, 1983, in Senatobia, Mississippi, as one of the two children born to John David Cross and Valerie Cook Cross. Upon completing high school, Shaun continued his education and obtained his Associate of Applied Science along with a technical certificate in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. He used the knowledge and skills earned through college to provide for his loving wife and two daughters as a technician in the heating and cooling industry. Aside from his roles as a family man and technician, Shaun enjoyed many activities. He loved spending time outdoors and was known to enjoy deer hunting, but he made sure that he could fit a fishing trip into his schedule as often as possible. In conjunction with his love for the outdoors, he had a passion for guns and loved spending time honing his skills as a marksman. Shooting a rifle was not the only weapon he could use; Shaun was known for his ability to turn an ordinary pool cue into a sharp shooting billiards machine as he played a round with his friends and family. When he preferred to remain near home, he could be found using his mechanical mind to repair just about anything his hands touched or lounging as he played video games. Shaun was an avid fan of the Mississippi State University Bull Dogs and cheered them on no matter the sport or occasion. Although he has departed from our presence, his treasured memory will hold a special place in the hearts and minds of his loved ones. Shaun leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence: wife, Destin Cross of Oxford, Mississippi; two daughters, Madison Elizabeth Cross of Oxford, Mississippi; Savannah Rose Cross of Oxford, Mississippi; parents, John David and Valerie Cook Cross of Como, Mississippi; one sister, Sherrie Lowe of Como, Mississippi; nephew; Nicholas Alan Lowe of Byhalia, Mississippi; niece, Bea Parker Lowe of Como, Mississippi; uncle, Steve Cook and his wife Marcia of Senatobia, Mississippi; aunt, Linda Reynolds and her husband JR of Camden, Arkansas; four special cousins: Lisa Griffis of Camden, Arkansas; Larry Knight of Camden, Arkansas; Tiffany Potter of Southaven, Mississippi; Stephanie Brazier of Southaven, Mississippi. The staff of Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is honored to serve the family during this challenging season of life.
