Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Serabelle Lyons, 13, passed away on April 3, 2026 at her home in Oxford, Mississippi. The family will receive friends on May 03, 2026 from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford. The memorial service celebrating her life will will take place immediately following the visitation, beginning at 5:00 PM in the chapel of Coleman Funeral Home. Serabelle was born on December 31, 2012 in Oxford, Mississippi to Chris and Laura Martinez Lyons. Sera was a whirlwind of life. She lived out loud, hugging and punching with equal passion. She was often troubled and troublesome, but her heart was full of love. She was extraordinarily generous, often offering her own possessions to anyone from a friend to a near stranger if they showed interest in anything she had. Her family and friends will remember her as a stubborn, chaotic, ball of sunshine. Her absence is felt most keenly in the silence she left behind. She loved music and could often be found with her headphones on, singing along at the top of her voice to her favorite songs. Her adoration for Kuromi from Hello Kitty and Ruby Rose from RWBY reflected her own vibrant, mischievous, and strong-willed spirit. Serabelle’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her—reminding us to be passionate, to find joy in the little things, and to always dance to our own music. She is survived by her parents, Chris and Laura Elizabeth Martinez Lyons of Oxford, Mississippi; her sister, Xena Rae Lyons of Oxford, Mississippi ; her brother, Vergil James Lyons of Oxford, Mississippi; maternal grandmother, Sharon Walls of Oxford, Mississippi; maternal grandfather, Ray Martinez (Connie) of Olathe, Kansas; paternal grandfather, Marshall Lyons (Caroline) of Ethel, Louisiana; and god mother, October Graham of Mukileto, Washington. Serabelle is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Renee Smith. The staff at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is honored to serve the family during this challenging season of life.
