Robert "Scotty" Scott

Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Robert Lindsey Scott, “Scotty”, 79, of Horn Lake, MS, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at LaBelle Haven Baptist Church (4800 Highway 305 N, Olive Branch, MS 38654). A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church. The interment will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park South (2545 Holmes Rd. Memphis, TN 38118). Reverend Dean Stewart will officiate. Scotty was born on March 12, 1943, in Memphis, TN. He worked as a clerk for the railway and was a member of the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees. He was also involved in the Memphis Bop Club, where he and his wife, Shirley were active members since 1987. Scotty was a member of LaBelle Haven Baptist Church, where he was faithful and loved attending. Scotty was known to have a servant’s heart. He would always lend a hand to a neighbor or anyone who was in need of help. Scotty enjoyed the outdoors and planting flowers. He also had horses for many years and enjoyed taking care of them. Scotty was devoted to his family. He and his wife, Shirley, were together for thirty-five years and were married for nineteen years. Scotty loved his grandchildren and was an amazing “Papa”. He will forever be remember and truly missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish Scotty's memory is his wife, Shirley Scott of Horn Lake, MS; daughter, Jennifer Desjardin of Benton, AR; son, Bryan Ashcraft of Hickory Withe, TN; three granddaughters, Morgan Desjardin, Isabella Desjardin, and Olivia Desjardin all of Benton, AR; sister, Sandra Jeans of Olive Branch, MS; brother, James Scott of Horn Lake, MS; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Scotty was preceded in death by his parents, Lindsey and Mary Mildred Scott, and brother, Raymond Scott. In lieu of traditional flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor of Robert Lindsey Scott’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.com).
