Robert Lamar "Bobby" Laney

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Robert Lamar “Bobby” Laney, 82, of Oxford, passed away on Thursday, April 03, 2025, at Grenada Health and Rehabilitation Services in Grenada, Mississippi. The family will celebrate his life with a graveside service on Tuesday, April 08, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in Oxford Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Annette Ford officiating. Bobby was welcomed into this world on August 26, 1942, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, as one of the four children born to the late John Bordeaux Laney and Brookie Wilson Laney. Bobby had a genuine love for Ole Miss sports, particularly football and basketball, which brought him joy and a sense of community. He also found solace and fulfillment in deer hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and unwind. Although Bobby has departed from life, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of his loved ones and friends. He leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence: one son, Rick Laney and his wife Renee of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; one daughter, Elizabeth Laney Wengryn and her husband David of Duluth, Georgia; four grandchildren: Demi Laney Engman and her husband Chase of Beaumont, Texas; Riley Laney and his fiancé Chelsea of Menominee, Michigan; Harrison Wengryn of Duluth, Georgia; and Ben Wengryn of Duluth, Georgia; one great-grandchild, Laney Mae Engman of Beaumont, Texas; two brothers: Buddy Laney of Water Valley, Mississippi; Paul Laney of Water Valley, Mississippi; special nephew, Doug Laney and his wife Brenda of Water Valley, Mississippi followed by a host of other beloved nieces and nephews. The loved ones who departed from this life before Bobby include his parents, John Bordeaux Laney and Brookie Wilson Laney, and one sister, Margaret Laney Boland.
