Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Rachel McGregor, 84, of Oxford passed away on Friday, March 03, 2023, at The Pinnacle of Oxford. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Rachel graced this world with her presence on the spring day of May 29, 1938, as daughter to the late Chester Malcolm Green Sr. and Jeanette Emmagray Prichett Green. Upon completion of grade school, this lady with a joy for life continued her education and became a licensed cosmetologist. Rachel spent many seasons of her life cutting, curling, and coloring hair before marrying her late husband Theron McGregor and becoming a homemaker. Aside from her career, she was best known for her genuine love of people, ranging from family and friends to strangers alike. Rachel found joy in music, particularly the rhythm of big band jazz and the soothing melodies of gospel music. While she loved listening to music she also enjoyed creating beautiful tunes on the piano. However, above all of her hobbies and interests, she cherished her relationship with the Lord. The Lord was her true source of joy throughout the mountaintops and valleys of life. It is safe to say that Rachel did not simply pass away; she held the cure to death in her soul, a relationship with Jesus. Although she has departed from our presence, her fond memory will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of her dear loved ones. She leaves the following family members to continue walking down the path of life in her absence: one brother, Chester Malcolm Green Jr and his wife Marcia of Forest, Mississippi; one sister, Barbara Henry and her husband Tony of Carthage, Mississippi; four nephews: Phil Green and his wife Karen of Woodland, Texas; David Henry of Carthage, Mississippi; Brian Henry and his wife Lucy of Sebastopol, Mississippi; Scott Green and his wife Sherry of Harperville, Mississippi; two sister-in-laws: Barbara Kay Green of Walnut Grove, Mississippi; Pam Green of Harperville, Mississippi; three great nephews: Walt Henry, Preston Green, and Ryan Green; three great nieces: Callie Brewer, Chrissy Long, and Meckena Kloster. Those family members that departed from this life before her include: husband, Theron McGregor; parents, Chester Malcolm Green Sr. and Jeanette Emmagray Prichett Green; two brothers: Robert Edward Green and Gregory Ray Green. In lieu of traditional flowers the family has requested donations be given to North Oxford Baptist Church. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is honored to serve the family as they begin to journey through this new season of life.
