Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Meta Williamson Combs, 73, passed away on June 18, 2026 at her residence in Oxford, Mississippi. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home (601 Commerce Parkway Oxford, MS, 38655). A memorial service will immediately follow on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Coleman Funeral Home. Meta was born on February 7, 1953 in Water Valley, Mississippi to the late John Williamson and Alene Hardy. Her devotion to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was unmatched, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Meta took immense joy in the company of her friends and family. Her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and a spirit of togetherness. Known as the most organized person in her family, Meta approached every aspect of life with precision, care, and a steadfast sense of responsibility. Honesty was one of Meta’s defining traits. She was always upfront and sincere with everyone she met, and those who knew her best admired her for her candor. Meta meant business in everything she did, a quality that made her an exceptional supervisor and a pillar of strength for her family and friends. No matter the task or the need, Meta had her own unique way of handling things, and her resourcefulness and practicality were unmatched. Her family always knew they could rely on her, no matter the challenge. Above all, Meta deeply loved her husband, Rich. Their 19 years of marriage were filled with partnership, laughter, and enduring affection. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. Meta is survived by her daughter, Angie Hudson of Oxford; her son, Chris Groner (Karen) of Oxford; her three granddaughters, Avery Groner, and Olivia and Ella Kate Hudson all of Oxford; two grandsons, Austin Groner (Selena) and Ashton Groner of Oxford; one great-granddaughter, Liliana Groner of Oxford; her two great-grandsons, Aiden and Banks Groner both of Oxford; and her four sisters, Darlene Pederson of Indiana, Johnnie Ross of Kentucky, Dreva Dickey (Jim) of Water Valley, and Debbie Peterson of Arizona. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Combs; her parents, John Williamson and Alene Hardy; and her brother, Jimmy.
