Max Ray Clark

Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Max Clark, 85, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at home surrounded by family. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, January 3, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with the service to immediately follow at 12:00 p.m., all at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch. Rev. Al Canon will officiate. The interment will be held at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Memphis, TN. Max was born on May 8, 1938, in Adamsville, TN. Max served our country honorably in the United States Army for three years. While in the Army, he spent a majority of that time in Okinawa, Japan. Before retiring, he worked for the United States Postal Service for thirty-nine years. In his free time, he loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and SEC football. Max also had a passion for Christmas lights that was well known throughout all of Olive Branch. He was very quick to lend a helping hand to others in need. Max loved the Lord, his family, and especially adored his grandchildren. Max will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved him. Max is preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Clark; parents, Thelma Marie Clark and Ethel Ellis Clark; brother, Jim Clark; and sister, Dean Sanders. Max is survived by Brenda Clark of Olive Branch, MS; daughters, Cyndi Herrington of Olive Branch, MS, Debbie Clark of Olive Branch, MS, Amy Bynum (Ben) of Southaven, MS, and Becky Clark of New York, NY; brother, Don Clark (Barbara) of Holden Beach, NC; sister, Dot Ford of Bartlett, TN; three grandchildren, Andrew Herrington (Kayla) of Guntown, MS, Clark Paccasassi of Southaven, MS, and Lily Bynum of Southaven, MS; great-grandchild, Aubrey Herrington of Guntown, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of traditional flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mr. Max Clark to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org). In honor of Max Clark's service to our country, the flag of the United States Army will be flown at Coleman Funeral Home the day of the service.
