Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Mario Antonio Minier, 93, of Oxford, Mississippi, passed away on August 04, 2025, at The Pinnacle of Oxford. The family will be planning a celebration of life in Dallas, Texas, where he lived most of his life, at a date and time to be announced later. Mario graced this world with his presence on January 25, 1932, in Santiago, Dominican Republic. He was raised in a loving home by Francisco and Guillermina Minier. Mario immigrated to the United States in his late 20s. He met Isabel Vasquez in New York City, and they were married on December 14, 1963. Mario lived a life rich in culture, passion, and purpose. He had an unshakable work ethic, always giving his best in everything he did whether it was his career, his family, or his many passions. Mario believed in doing things with pride and determination. Mario had a special connection to the classic movies of Hollywood’s golden age. He found joy in the storytelling of that opulent era, when elegance was at the center of every frame. His taste in clothes was inspired by that period, and he relished any opportunity to dress his best. A true romantic, his heart belonged to music, especially the Latin rhythms of the 1950s and 1960s. From passionate boleros to the infectious beats of merengue, bachata, and salsa, music was his lifelong companion. Mario didn’t just listen - he sang, he danced, and he lived every note. On the dance floor at many a party or family gathering, he brought life, movement, and celebration to those around him, with his beautiful wife Isabel (may she rest in peace) as his dance partner. He was friendly and personable, always ready to strike up a chat with a stranger and make a new friend at the store, at work, or just driving down the street. His positive outlook was his strength throughout life’s most challenging moments. For Mario, every day was a gift, every challenge a lesson, and every moment an opportunity to smile, laugh, and love deeply. May his spirit live on in music, as well as the memories and the hearts of all who knew him. Mario leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path in his absence: Three children - Elizabeth Gnehm and her husband David of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; Edward Minier and his wife Veronica of Thaxton, Mississippi; Ellen Attebery and her husband James of Puyallup, Washington. Eight grandchildren - Joseph Gnehm of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; Sophia Gnehm of Los Angeles, California; Patrick Gnehm of San Antonio, Texas; Ezekiel Minier of Thaxton, Mississippi; Bailee Walden of Dallas, Texas; Boone Walden of Phoenix, Arizona; Izabella Attebery of Puyallup, Washington; Evangelena Attebery of Puyallup, Washington. Three siblings: Dulce Diaz of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Milagros Diaz of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Johnny Silverio and his wife Trini of Atlanta, Georgia. The loved ones who departed from this life before him include: his beloved wife, Isabel Vasquez Minier; parents, Francisco Minier and Guillermina Minier; one daughter, Jacqueline Minier; and two brothers: Ignacio Espaillat and Luis Espaillat.
