Madge Louise Wright

Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven Mrs. Madge Louise Wright, 84, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN. Visitation will be Thursday, October 15, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven (626 Star Landing Rd., Southaven, MS 38672). A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home. There will also be a graveside service held that afternoon at 3:00 p.m., at Bellevernon Cemetery (939 Main St., Friendship, TN 38034). Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Wright was born on January 14, 1936, in Selmer, TN. She was always known to be a very fun and creative person. She was an avid reader and enjoyed morning walks. She also enjoyed playing card games and board games with her friends and family. Mrs. Wright had a hobby of collecting postcards from all over the world. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats. She was a dedicated and active member of her church, Hometown Pentecostal Holiness Church in Memphis, TN. Mrs. Wright will be truly missed by all of her family and friends. Mrs. Wright is survived by her daughter, Christine (James) Vandiver of Somerville, TN; two sons, William “Billy” (Rhonda) Wright of Memphis, and Raymond Nelson (Monica) Wright of Byhalia, MS; five granddaughters, Emily Wright of Loveland, CO, April (Brian) Ruleman of Bartlett, Jamie (Samuel) Byrum of Somerville, Jessica (Allen) Garland of Brownsville, TN, and Shandy (David) Perry of Southaven; five grandsons, Keith Marshall of Holly Springs, MS, Charles Wright of Southaven, Zachary Wright of Byhalia, Jason Vandiver of Somerville, and Johnny Daugherty of Southaven; one brother, Hansford “Sonny” Hopkins of TN; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Wright; her parents, Mattie Earnest Hopkins and Willie Hopkins; one daughter, Charlotte (Gary) Daugherty; two grandsons, Robert Wright and Jeremy Wright; one sister, Marcelle Hopkins; and one brother, Reuben Hopkins.
