Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Lynda Faye McCain, 78, of Southaven, MS, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Coleman Funeral Home (6815 Parkview Blvd., Olive Branch, MS). The interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery (289 US-51, Batesville, MS). Bro. Danny Bell of Gray's Creek Baptist Church will officiate. Lynda was born on October 16, 1944, in Lambert, MS. She graduated from Memphis Technical High School and later became the owner of Able Electric Service in Homewood, IL and A.B Lewis Electrical Supply in South Holland, IL. Lynda attended Gray’s Creek Baptist Church and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. One of the most important aspects of Lynda’s life was her relationship with God and being involved in the church. Lynda was a Sunday school teacher, involved in a bus and sailor ministry, and worked with underprivileged children during her time at First Baptist Church in Hammond, IN. Lynda had a special bond with her family. Being a mother and grandmother was the most important thing in her life. She especially loved her grandchildren and was at every event supporting them. Lynda was also known as “mom” to a lot of people. She never met a stranger, and had a radiant, outgoing personality. When you were around Lynda, she was always laughing and had a smile on her face. She truly enjoyed life. Lynda was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish Lynda’s memory are her daughters, Tammy DiCarlo of Southaven, MS and Debbie Mallett (Steve) of Hernando, MS; grandson, Tyler DiCarlo of Southaven, MS, granddaughters, Madison Mallett of Hernando, MS; Savannah Mallett of Hernando, MS, brother, Willie McCain of Nesbit, MS; and sister, Mary Alice Sisson (Wayne) of Olive Branch, MS. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Calvin McCain and Ethel Lois McCain; brothers, Frank Holt Jr., George McCain and James McCain.
