Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Ms. Laken Lane Taylor, 37, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023, at her home in Oxford, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford (601 Commerce Pkwy., Oxford, MS 38655). A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. also at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford. Interment will be at Shiloh Cemetery (31 CR 429, Oxford, MS 38655). Bro. Steve Quarles will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Laken was born August 29, 1985, in Tupelo, MS. She grew up such a loving and caring person, who always put those she loved above all else. She was a beautiful soul, with an incredibly creative eye. Laken enjoyed arts and crafts and drawing and using her artistic talents. She was also very intelligent from being such an avid reader throughout her life. Laken had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing for others and hosting her family and friends every chance she could. She also used her love for hosting in the workplace, working as a hostess for most of her life. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and the outdoors as well. However, nothing was more important to her than her family and children. Her children were her pride and joy, and she was always so proud of them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Laken is survived by her father, Terry Taylor of Oxford; two daughters, Neely Grace Taylor and Henley Shaw Taylor, both of Oxford; one son, Simeon Jackson Taylor of Oxford; her sister, June Nicole Taylor of Oxford; her grandmother, Iris V. Taylor of Oxford; two aunts, Sherrie Padgett and Wendy (Mark) Reese, both of Oxford; four cousins, Bo (Starr) Padgett and Leigh Taylor Padgett, both of Oxford, and Tony (Ashley) Franks and Christopher Franks, of Greenville, MS; and a host of extended family members. Laken was preceded in death by her mother, Rhonda Daon Taylor; her two grandfathers, Simeon Byron Taylor, III, and Charles Blankenship; and her grandmother, June Cummings.
