John "Johnny" Emerson Kingsley Jr.

John “Johnny” Emerson Kingsley, Jr., passed away May 31, 2023, in Southaven, MS. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven (626 Star Landing Road East, Southaven, MS 38672.) A going home service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. A private family graveside will be held after. In celebration of his birthday in August, the family will hold a service to celebrate him again, at a later date in August, with more information to come. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements. Johnny was born August 09, 1962, in Memphis, TN. He was the star of the show everywhere his presence was made, from being on the “Oprah Winfrey Show” to being an Elvis impersonator at several events. Johnny was very involved with the Special Olympics and even won gold medals in Ireland for the World Games. He was an Honorary member at Anderson Jordan Marine Corp League where he thoroughly enjoyed his meetings when he was in attendance. Johnny was also very active as a Special Olympic Athlete’s Ambassador. His family described him as being everyone’s biggest cheerleader. You would always see Johnny with a smile on his face, especially when he was at work at Lenny’s Sub Shop. When he wasn’t involved in Special Olympics, you would catch him cheering on his favorite team, the Alabama Crimson Tide. Above all, Johnny loved his family dearly and enjoyed being a brother, an uncle, a cousin, and a friend. He made your life better just because he was in it. He will definitely be missed by all that knew him. He was survived by his parents, John Emerson Kingsley, Sr. and Lilly Ann Kingsley of Southaven, MS; his brothers, Danny (Cheryl) Kingsley and Mark (Angii) Kingsley, both of Southaven; his nephews, Michael (Julie) Kingsley of Southaven and Hunter (Jennifer) of Courtland, MS; his nieces, Megan (Hunter) Bledsoe of Nashville, TN and Hollie Childers of Dallas, TX; his great-nephew, Lane; his great-niece, Caroline; and numerous extended family members. Johnny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dante and Pauline Donati and Luke and Mary Leicester Kingsley.
