John "Danny" Jacobs

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Mr. John “Danny” Jacobs, 64, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at his home in Oakland, MS. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford (601 Commerce Pkwy., Oxford, MS 38655). Bro. Joey Williams will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Danny was born on July 28, 1960, in Greenville, MS. At an early age, he developed an amazing outlook on life. He had a way of always seeing the positive in every situation. Mr. Danny was born without the ability to hear, but that did not stop him from working hard to achieve whatever he put his mind to. He embraced his disabilities, and he proved that your life is what you make of it. Mr. Danny proudly graduated from Milsaps College in Jackson, MS, and went on to complete his Forestry apprenticeship. His hard work and perseverance was truly amazing, and he was such an inspiration to so many people. Mr. Danny had a great love for the outdoors. Whether it was hunting, fishing, or just walking around, he was at his happiest when he was in nature. He had such a calm and relaxing presence. Mr. Danny had a way of always making others feel so comfortable around him, and he never missed an opportunity to make a friend or make someone smile. He always enjoyed telling stories and spending time with others. However, he loved nothing more than his family. He was so incredibly proud of his family, especially his daughters and grandchildren. He truly lived an amazing life and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Jacobs is survived by his two daughters, Kody Jacobs of Grenada, MS, and Kelsey Jacobs of Oakland; his mother, Virginia Jacobs of Tupelo, MS; four granddaughters, Eslynn Jacobs, Ayslie Jacobs, Livvy Taylor, and Willow Arbuckle; his brother, George Randy Jacobs of Vancleave, MS; two sisters, Kay Davis of Hot Springs, AR, and Diane (Shirley) Fielder-Jacobs of Tupelo; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Mr. Jacobs was preceded in death by his father, JD Jacobs; his twin brother, Doug Jacobs; and his brother Russell Jacobs.
