Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Mrs. Janet Gail Duvall, 79, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Visitation will be Monday, October 2, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford (601 Commerce Pkwy., Oxford, MS 38655). A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. also at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford. Interment will be at Tula Cemetery (64 CR 436, Oxford, MS 38655). Pastor Jacob Lewellen will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Duvall was born on February 19, 1944, in Waukegan, IL. She was always such a strong and loving woman. She had a way of making everyone around her feel so comfortable, and she accepted everyone as they were. Mrs. Duvall based her life around her family and was the best example of a true family-oriented woman. No matter what obstacles she had to face in life, she faced them with a smile, all too continuously bring her family hope, joy, and happiness. She was truly the glue that held her family together, and her legacy will continue to thrive in her memory. Mrs. Duvall was also an incredibly fun-loving woman. She enjoyed nothing more than having her family around, dancing, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. She had a special place in her heart for all animals, but she especially loved her chickens and cats. Mrs. Duvall was a devoted Christian woman and was very active in her church, Tula United Methodist Church. She loved her church family and her Lord and Savior. She never hesitated to help anyone in need through any means necessary. She will forever be loved and remembered by all who knew her. Mrs. Duvall is survived by her loving children, Brian (Roxanne) Crawford, Vicky Griggs, and David “Slick” Crawford, all of Oxford, Kimberly (James) Cook of Olive Branch, MS, and Thomas (Wendy) Crawford of Senatobia, MS; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Duvall was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Duvall; her parents, Blossom Stack Wald and Robert Wald ; one son, Carlos Douglas Crawford; one grandson, Joshua Lee Griggs; two granddaughters, Natasha Gail Griggs and Christian Gail Crawford; one sister, Cheryl Pontillo; and one brother, Wayne Wald.
