Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch James Aaron Houston, 90, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023. Friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. After the service, interment will be held at Pine Bluff Church of Christ Cemetery (311 County Road 431, Oxford, MS 38655). Mr. Mike Hixson of Olive Branch Church of Christ will officiate. James was born on July 4, 1932, in Riverside, MS. Around 1939, he survived Diptheria as a child. He went on to honorably serve our country in the United States Army. After thirty-one years, James retired with the City of Memphis Fire Department. During his retirement, he worked for the Community of Ripley Mississippi Water Department. James was a member of Olive Branch Church of Christ. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Lindy Boyd of Tennessee; son, Ronald L. Houston of Arizona; granddaughter, Kelly Whitten (Brion); grandsons, Kevin Houston (Misty), Donald Anglin, Daniel Anglin (Chris Ledbetter), Kenny Houston (Marcia); great-grandchildren, Dylan Houston, Aaron Anglin, Ryan Houston, Chase Whitten, Brooks Whitten, Cassidy Houston, Emma Houston; and daughter-in-law, Ellen Houston. James was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Jean Houston, who he married on September 14, 1952 and passed away on May 27, 2004; his second wife, Katie Thompson Wyrick Houston, who he married on December 1, 2009 and passed away on September 5, 2020. James is also preceded in death by his son, James Randall Houston and parents, Willie Walker Houston and Beulah Ethel Houston.
