Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Gary Dean Vanderford, Jr., 52, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m., all at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch. The interment will be held at Autumn Woods Memorial Park. Dean was born on March 10, 1972, in Ripley, MS. He was a descendant of the first founders of Boston. Dean was great with his hands and could create and build incredible things. He worked as an engineer, but his creativity shone throughout the rest of his life. He was creative, artistic, and loved painting. Dean was passionate about music and was a skilled guitarist. He cherished the opportunity to teach music to anyone willing to learn. Dean was a Christian man and believed strongly in the Bible. He was quick to quote it and could take you straight to any verse you needed. Family meant the world to Dean and he was especially close to his brother and sister. He adored his grandchildren, who were a huge part of his life. Everyone who knew him knew that he wore his heart on his sleeve and would give you the shirt off his back. There are no limits to the sacrifices he would make for his family. Those who loved Dean will miss him dearly. Dean was preceded in death by his father, Gary Dean Vanderford, Sr.; brother, Stevan Douglass Vanderford; and ex-son-in-law, Walter Patrick. Dean is survived by his loving wife, Kelly Ramsey Vanderford of Olive Branch; mother, Jennie Weeks Cagle (Jay) of Germantown, TN; daughters, Valeda Burgin (Rodney) of Holly Springs, MS, Madeleine MacDonald (Mark Hoffman) of Macclenny, FL, and Samantha Kay Scott of Byhalia, MS; sons, Patrick Kellum of Orange Park, FL, Joseph Ramsey of Byhalia, MS, Robert MacDonald (Elizabeth) of Germantown, TN, and John MacDonald (Jessica) of Alabama; sister, Elizabeth Rose Vanderford of Cordova, TN; twenty-one grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members who loved him.
