Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Elizabeth Lavender Tidwell, 60, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones at her home in Abbeville, MS. A visitation will be held Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Coleman Funeral Home in Oxford, MS. The service will follow immediately at 11:00 a.m. also at Coleman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Owens-Vaughn Cemetery in Abbeville, MS. Bro. Fletcher Moorman will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Tidwell was born May 30, 1961, to the late William Lavender and Dinah Phifer. She was married to Jerry Tidwell. Elizabeth worked several clerical jobs, and she worked as Postmaster Relief for Abbeville Post Office. Because of her great love for shoes, she most enjoyed working in retail in shoe departments at Dillards, Belk, and Goldsmith’s. She also enjoyed working as manager at Vincent Shoes. Elizabeth was a person loved by everyone who knew her, but none loved her more than her grandchildren. Her life revolved around family and spending time with them. She was adored by her husband, her children, her siblings, and her in laws. They knew her as beautiful, loving, and caring. One of the greatest legacies she leaves her family is that she was a friend forever. She loved her friends and remained loyal to them. She loved crafts, but especially jewelry making. Her favorite pieces were the many spoon and cross selections. She enjoyed helping her sister run the Abbeville Flea Market. Elizabeth Tidwell is survived by her husband, Jerry Tidwell; her mother, Dinah (William) Phifer; her grandmother, Golden Crenshaw; her children, Enjoli Collums, Brandon Wallace, and Kristen Wallace; her stepchildren, Jerry Tidwell, Jr. and Lorie Johnson; her grandchildren, Ethan and Hannah Canankamp, Evan Collums, Logan and Lola Wallace, Maigan and Madelyne Wallace, and Blake Samples; her stepgrandchildren, Nathan Tidwell, Alyssa Benedict, Sarah Nichols, and Emily Johnson; six great grandchildren; her sister, Jennifer Hampton; her brother, Eric Lavender; and her stepsister, Rosie Lavender.
