Debra Vaughan Jennings

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Mrs. Debra Vaughan Jennings, 71, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. Visitation will be Friday, September 8, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford (601 Commerce Pkwy., Oxford, MS 38655). A memorial service will immediately follow also at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford. Bro. Steve Quarles will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Jennings was born on November 10, 1951, in Greenville, MS. She was such a loving and compassionate person and proudly worked as an administrator for the Western Line School District in Avon, MS from 1991 to 2004. She then transferred to work at the Lafayette County school system in 2004 until ultimately retiring in 2019. Throughout her years there, she was a member of many different organizations within the school system and the community. She was also a proud member of College Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Jennings was known to be an incredibly supportive woman who had the tendency to always put others before herself. She worked relentlessly to help others and those she cared about. She set an example throughout the life she lived for her family, teaching them the importance of love, patience, and staying family-oriented. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and her family was always her true pride and joy. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Jennings is survived by her loving husband, Rabun “Ray” Jennings of Oxford; her two daughters, Paige (Kevin) Phillips, of Chattanooga, TN, and Kelly (David Dee) Wages of Oxford; her two granddaughters, Caroline Wages and Mallory Wages, both of Oxford; three brothers, Charles (Jo Ann) Vaughan of Charlotte, NC, Billy (Molly) Vaughan of Auburn, GA, and Jerome (Jamie) Vaughan of Clinton, MS; and her sister-in-law, Carolynn (Jim) Arnold of Oxford. Mrs. Jennings was preceded in death by her parents, John T. Vaughan and Juanita Kitchens Vaughan; and one brother, John T.
