Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Mr. Danny Joseph “Joey” Hipp, 47, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at his home in Oxford, MS. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. at Tula Cemetery. Mr. Glenn Coleman will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Joey was born on October 20, 1976 to Danny and Sandra Hipp. Throughout his life, Joey was an incredibly hard worker. He did everything from working on a riverboat to installing gutters for others. Joey ultimately found his calling in opening his own business, Hipp Dozer and Trackhoe. His persistent and hard-working mentality led him to serve others through his business for over 12 years. Joey was always willing to help others in need, and he would get up to help someone at a moment’s notice. Joey was also known to be the life of the party! He had such an amazing personality. He had a way of bringing joy and laughter to others wherever he went. He had the funniest jokes, and he never turned down an opportunity to spend time with his friends and family. Joey was also a family man, and he was so proud of his daughter Mary-Hannah Hipp Larson; however, his pride and joy was his grandson, Bowen, or as he called him, “Turbo.” He and Bowen would never miss an opportunity to hop on the side by side and go riding, listening to country music and watching the sunset. He passed so many traits on to his family and leaves an endless amount of happy memories. Joey was a man who truly left a mark on this world, and the joy that he brought others will forever live on in the lives he touched. Joey is survived by his parents, Sandra Hipp and Danny Hipp; his daughter, Mary-Hannah Hipp Larson and her husband, Sam; his grandson, Bowen Grae “Turbo” Coombs; his sister, Emily Elizabeth Hipp Huffman and her husband, Jeff; his two nieces, Rylen Elizabeth Huffman and Rowan McKenna Huffman; his aunt, Donna Walker and her husband, J.W.; his uncle, Paul Howard Hipp; his best friend, Mike Tatum and his wife, Cindy; his special friend, Buffy Hipp; and a host of extended family and friends who he loved dearly. Joey was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Matthew Hipp. Donations and memorials in honor of Danny Joseph “Joey” Hipp may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
