Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Corrine Taylor Cullen,94, of Oxford, passed away at her residence on Friday, May 02, 2025. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 07, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford. The funeral service celebrating her life will take place immediately following the visitation, beginning at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Coleman Funeral Home. Corrine graced this world with her presence on November 25, 1930, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, as one of the three children born to Robert Oscar Taylor and Mary Marguerite Whaley Taylor. Corrine, a Holly Springs native, traveled to Oxford to attend the University of Mississippi for an education, but found a place where she would build her life. She was a beloved teacher at Oxford Elementary, where she touched the lives of countless students from her fifth and sixth-grade classroom and colleagues with her warmth, patience, and unwavering dedication to education. Her classroom was a place of joy and discovery, a space where young minds were nurtured and encouraged. After many years of teaching, Corrine stepped away from the classroom to devote herself to raising her family—another role she cherished deeply and carried out with love and grace. Her love for children extended beyond the school as well. Corrine faithfully taught Sunday School at First Presbyterian Church of Oxford for many years, sharing her deep faith and gentle spirit with the next generation. She also served the church community as an elder, always leading with humility, compassion, and quiet strength. Corrine’s home reflected her spirit—warm, welcoming, and full of life, especially when Ole Miss was playing football, rarely missing a chance to cheer them on. She was a wonderful cook who delighted in preparing meals for loved ones, and she found peace and joy in tending to her flowers and working in her yard. She also enjoyed the peace found while putting paint to paper and making beautiful portraits come to life. Art was not just a hobby that allowed time to pass, art gave her a purpose and kept her sharp and active. She often gave the creations as gifts to her friends and family. Whether through a home-cooked meal, a blooming garden, or her art work. Corrine gave of herself in the most thoughtful and loving ways. She will be remembered for her kindness, her strong faith, and the gentle way she made everyone around her feel cared for and seen. She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence: two daughters: Gena Ivy and her husband Alan of Oxford; Catherine Mize and her husband Tony of Oxford; six Grandchildren: Josh Ivy and his wife Shannon of Oxford; Anna Leigh Snyder and her husband Sean of Oxford; Taylor Howell and her husband Kenny of Oxford; Mary Hannah Turner and her husband Tyler of Oxford; Jack Ivy of Oxford; and Avagrace Ivy of Oxford; two step-grandchildren: Lee Mize and his wife Randall of Oxford; and Kelli Briscoe of Oxford; twelve great-grandchildren: Two sisters: Bobby Stephens of New Orleans, Louisiana; Mary Elizabeth Boatright and her husband Ross of Oxford; and a host of extended family members that were dear to her heart. The loved ones who departed from this life before her include her beloved husband, Jack L Cullen; father and mother, Robert Oscar Taylor and Mary Marguerite Whaley Taylor; and one brother-in-law, Alfred Stephens.
