Coleman Brady Gillespie

Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Coleman Brady Gillespie was promoted to glory on June 12, 2023 in Duncanville TX. He was 98 years old, and passed peacefully from this world to Heaven, having made Jesus Christ his Savior and Lord early in life, and having consistently lived his faith from that time until now. Coleman was born on November 16, 1924 to Brady Coleman and Arra Frances Gillespie in the oil fields of Griffin, AR. Coleman served his country in the Army Air Corp (Air Force) for four years during the Korean War. Afterwards, he continued to serve in the United States Postal Service in Shreveport, Louisiana for thirty-five years. He started out as a clerk and retired as a station manager. Coleman was also a part of the construction crew for R. A. Mackey Real Estate building houses and maintaining properties. Coleman married Rosa Lee Marsh on April 6, 1947 in Shreveport, LA. They lived in Shreveport, LA for many years. While there, he was a faithful member of Life Tabernacle where he also served on the board. In 1994, they moved to Olive Branch, MS and became founding members at Rejoice Church where he served on the board of directors as Treasurer for twenty years. He was beloved by all. Later, Coleman moved to Duncanville, TX to live with Linda and Dalton in 2018. There he attended Mountain Creek Community Church. In his spare time, Coleman loved bowling and fishing. He bought three houses that he remodeled, added onto, and then sold for a profit. He may have been the original “Fixer Upper”. He was smart with finances, tools, and he was organized!!! Find a problem, he could solve it. Need a gadget, he could make it or build it. Need a friend, he was one that would stick closer than a brother. Left to cherish Coleman’s memory are his two daughters, Linda Lott (Dalton), Cathy Black (George Black, III); six grandchildren, Jennifer, Amy, Letisha, Sabrah, Sharrah, Shelley; thirteen great-grandchildren, Audrey, Catherine, Pierce, Dash/Dalton, Caroline, Hailey, Hanna, Hailey, Olivia, David, Elijah, Abigail; and son-in-law, Dallas Munden. Coleman is preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Lee Marsh, who passed on October 24, 2012, his daughter, Bonita Munden who passed on May 23, 2008, and great-grandchild, Makayla. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Coleman Brady Gillespie is scheduled for Thursday evening, June 15, 2023 at 7:00 PM. The service will be conducted at Rejoice Church, 7540 Davidson Rd., Olive Branch MS 38654. Dr. George Black officiating. Everyone is invited. There will be no visitation. A private graveside service is scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Kelvin's Angel Tree, a fundraising ministry of Rejoice International Network for orphans, deserving children, and widows in sixteen countries around the world.
