Clayton Bradley "Clay" Payne

Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven Mr. Clayton Bradley “Clay” Payne, 38 entered home, in God’s Kingdom on Sunday, August 15, 2021, after giving his life over to Jesus on August 29, 2016. To celebrate his homecoming with Jesus, his family will have a visitation on Monday, August 23, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Broadway Baptist Church (7400 Getwell Rd, Southaven, MS 38672). A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m., also at Broadway Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow later in the afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at Marked Tree Cemetery (Highway 75 South, Marked Tree, AR). Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven (626 Star Landing Rd. East, Southaven, MS 38672) is in charge of arrangements. Clay was born in New Orleans, LA on March 15, 1983, with an uncanny ability to make everyone love him. His generous spirit and talkative personality made him a friend to many. His parents have many fond memories of Clay as a small child, easily convincing them to buy him toys using his dynamic and natural sales ability. Always laughing, he loved jokes and was a master of trivial knowledge. Rarely could Clay be seen without a huge smile on his face, which was infectious to others. Those who were able to know and love Clay, will truly feel his loss, miss his engaging personality, and his smiling countenance. Mr. Payne, a lifelong Baptist, graduated from Northpoint Christian School (formerly SBEC) in Southaven, MS and The University of Mississippi with a Baccalaureate Degree. Clay loved the mountains and nature and could often be found hiking or canoeing. Mr. Clayton “Clay” Payne leaves behind his loving parents, James Ewing “Jim” Payne and Donna “Sue” Worley Payne of Southaven, MS; his daughter, Molly Rose Pederson-Selby of London, England, his sister Rebecca Payne “Becky” (Brian) Boles of Bentonville, AR; his four nieces, Margaret “Maggie” Elaine Boles, Sarah Kathryn Boles, Elizabeth Rebecca Boles and Lydia Ruth Boles all of Bentonville, AR. In lieu of flowers, Clay’s family requests that memorial Contributions be made to John 3:16 Ministries (https://john316thecure.com/ministry/), Redeemer Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS (https://redeemerolivebranch.com/) or Broadway Baptist Church (https://broadwaychurch.org/).
