Brian "Bart" McGuire

Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven Brian "Bart" McGuire, age 52, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, in Germantown, TN. A visitation in his honor will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at 4:00 p.m., at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven (626 Star Landing Road East, Southaven, MS 38672). Bro. Al Canon will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is handling the arrangements. Bart exemplified what it meant to be a kind, decent human being. He was a beacon of support in times of need, always maintaining a positive outlook and turning challenges into opportunities. Bart embodied true friendship, known for his love, kindness, generosity, and selflessness. He would give you the shirt off his back or his last meal without hesitation. He had a kind heart and found joy in spending time with family and friends, always welcoming others with his motto, “the more the merrier.” He loved making people laugh and never took life too seriously. Bart was always ready to lend a helping hand, connecting and holding people together. His legacy teaches us to strive to be better people. Bart found joy in hunting, fishing, and grilling on his Big Green Egg. He loved hosting cookouts and get-togethers, and cherished spending time with friends and family. Bart also enjoyed fixing things, chatting on the phone with his brother Matt, and sharing dad jokes. However, more than anything else, Bart treasured spending time with his family. Bart was employed at Fedx and held a 33-year career while there. He was highly respected and formed close friendships with his co-workers. In his current role, Bart was an expert on US FedEx operations. His extensive experience, from handling to management and training, made him a true expert in the field. Bart led a team of experts to develop and refine standard operating procedures for courier station operations. He was originally hired on March 12, 1991, as a handler/tug driver and lastly as Operations Technical Advisor; celebrating 33 years with FedEx on June 23, 2024. Throughout his career, Bart received numerous awards, including many Bravo Zulu awards for outstanding performance beyond normal job expectations. He made a lasting impact, improving every position he held. Bart is survived by his wife, Alendra McGuire of Hernando, MS; daughters, Lauren (Dylan) Kane and Riley McGuire, both of Hernando; brother, Matt (Becky) McGuire; nephew, Mason McGuire; and nieces, Brianna, Makayla, and Ava Ables.
