Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven Mrs. Bonnie Jean Morgan, 90, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family. A visitation will be Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven (626 Star Landing Rd. East, Southaven, MS 38672). A funeral service celebrating her life will immediately follow at 5:30 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd., Memphis, TN 38125). Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of all arrangements. Mrs. Morgan was born in Charleston, MS, on April 8, 1931, with all of the charm and grace characteristic of a Southern Belle. She was a strong, outspoken, and independent woman, who inspired love and admiration from others. Bonnie was the fundamental and essential rock of the Morgan family. She was a wonderful wife to her husband, James, and a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Morgan was an especially industrious homemaker, as she could make most anything, from quilts to crafting. She always looked beautiful and put together, no matter the occasion. Her relationship with God was strong and she was a long-time member of the Greenlaw Baptist Church located in the Frayser area of Memphis, TN. Bonnie’s one-of-a-kind grace will truly be missed by her family and everyone whose life she touched. Mrs. Morgan was known to be a feisty woman and very independent. She was a driven and inspiring individual, always presentable and well organized. You always knew where you stood with her. Bonnie Morgan was very much a family woman. Mrs. Bonnie Jean Morgan is survived by two daughters, Tracey (Marty) Blevins of Southaven, and Brenda (Chris) Baker of Bartlett, TN; and her three sons, Thomas (Karen) Morgan of Hernando, MS, Bobby (Sue) Morgan of Aurora, CO, and Marty (Tracey) Blevins of Southaven; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Morgan, Jr.; her parents, Emory and Ruth Pittman; two sons, Ricky Morgan and Jimmy Morgan; four brothers and two sisters.
