Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Allan Gene Craig, 78, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with the memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m., all at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch. Pastor Greg Meek of Getwell Church and Mayor Ken Adams will officiate. Allan was born on February 2, 1945, in Battle Creek, MI. He was a member of Getwell Church in Olive Branch, MS. Allan was a member of the United States Army, where he served honorably in Vietnam. Allan co-owned a daycare, was a former fireman in Texas, and an officer reserve for the Memphis police force. Allan was a dedicated volunteer and volunteered for a search crew during 9/11 and after Hurricane Katrina. Allan was skilled at poker and looked forward to his weekly poker games with friends. He was also a cigar fanatic. Allan loved going to the casino, especially due to how lucky he always was. In his free time at home, he enjoyed doing yard work and was a John Deer junky. Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Katy Byrd Craig and Eugene Johnson Craig and his sister, Denise Craig. Allan is survived by his wife, Deborah Tolleson Craig of Olive Branch, MS; daughter, Kimberly Brewer (Richard) of Independence, MS; sons, Allan “AJ” Craig, Jr. (Jennifer) of Piperton, TN, and Michael Craig of Memphis, TN; two bonus daughters, Jaqueline Carter (Andrew) of Nesbit, MS, and Christine Cuber of Sun City, FL; six granddaughters, bonus granddaughters, one great-grandson and brother, Jim Craig of Maryville, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Olive Branch Police Department Shop with a Cop. To do so, please make out a check addressed to the City of Olive Branch and fill out the memo line as “OBPD Shop with a Cop.” A basket will be available at Coleman Funeral Home for donations on the day of the service. In honor of Allan’s service to our country, the flag of the United States Army will be flown at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch on the day of the services.
