Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Alison Marie Wilkes, 64, of Oxford, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at her residence. The family has elected not to host any services and will celebrate her life privately, leaning on one another for support. Alison was welcomed into this world on May 18, 1961, in Oxford, Mississippi, as one of the children born to William Park Wilkes and Alice Marie Graham Williford-Wilkes. A private and free-spirited woman, Alison lived life on her own terms, touching the lives of many while keeping much of herself reserved. Well known in Oxford’s restaurant industry, Alison worked in several respected establishments over the years, earning a reputation for her dedication and skill. Beyond her professional life, Alison possessed a rare talent for nearly anything she set her mind to — from mechanical work and hands-on projects to the delicate craft of sewing. Her versatility and quiet strength inspired those who knew her. Alison had a deep appreciation for the world around her, often capturing its beauty through photography. The sky, in particular, fascinated her, and many of her favorite images were of clouds, sunsets, and stars — moments of quiet wonder that reflected her spirit. Although she has departed from our presence, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of her loved ones and friends. She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence: two brothers, Graham Wilkes and his wife Christine of Brandon, Mississippi; Steve Sallis of San Diego, California; one sister, Holly Ross and her husband David of Oxford, Mississippi; one nephew, Brendan Jones of Nashville, Tennessee; four nieces: Makenzie Bullock of Jackson, Mississippi; Miranda Wilkes-Floyd and her husband Corey Louisville, Kentucky; Mary Alden Gentry of Atlanta, Georgia; Rowan Gentry of Oxford, Mississippi; and one great nephew, Theodore Floyd of Louisville, Kentucky. The loved ones who departed from this life before her include her parents, William Park Wilkes and Alice Marie Graham Williford-Wilkes, and one brother, Mackey Sallis.
